What is the Road Runner Challenge?

The idea originated from our popular and highly successful fundraising challenges, John O’Groats to Land’s End (JOGLE) and the NC500. Both of these events required the rider to travel to the start point in Scotland and back home again afterwards. This in itself was quite challenging and not much fun when traveling on your own.

The Road Runner Challenge was created in 2017 and incorperates both of the above events. It has run successfully every year since. This is a great challenge for those who are up for completing the whole event, however, there is also an option to join us on the Northern part of the challenge in Scotland.

John o Groats to Lands’ End is is often one of those bucket list items and for those not familiar with the NC500, this is a 500-mile circular tour of Scotland on some of the best biking roads the UK has to offer.

The challenge will follow a route utilising 99% A and B roads and you will be riding the JOGLE, the NC500 and most of our National Parks. 2020 is our fourth year running the RRC and with some hardened soles coming back each year they must be a gluten for punishment or they enjoy it so much! This really is the ultimate tour of the UK and what better way to do it and raise some funds for Bike Tours for the Wounded and support our Veterans.

Overview of the Road Runner Challenge 2020.

New for 2020 we will be riding ‘’LEJOG’’ yes, we are going South to North!

The event will start in Cornwall at Hayle on Saturday 4th April 2020 for a meet and greet heading out the next morning to Lands’ End. From there it is 7 days riding finishing at the East Midlands Hilton Hotel for not only your end of tour function, but our annual pre tour function where you will meet some of the beneficiaries you have supported through your fundraising on this challenge.

Please look at the tour itinerary to whet your appetite and as for riding in April, well we have been blessed with good weather each year let us keep our fingers crossed.

The Route

Each daily route has been tried, tweaked and tested over the last few years and allows you to experience some of the best roads and great riding. The mileage on some days is a challenge, however with time management without the use of excessive speed you will be able complete this challenge comfortably under the guidance of our experienced tour guides and of course take time to enjoy the scenery, coffee and cake stops!  See RED and GREEN route options.
